Healthy West Orange Building Event Staff

The Foundation for Healthier West Orange (FHWO) is looking to hire part time event staff for the Healthy West Orange Building on East Plant Street. Hours will vary depending on event bookings but will primarily be evenings and weekends with 4-10 hour shifts. This position will report to the Office and Building Event Manager. 

The primary use of our community event space is for entities that support the vision of the Foundation to cultivate the healthiest community in the nation. The ideal candidates will reside in West Orange and possess skills that will positively represent the Healthy West Orange vision to event clients. For longer events, time permitting, individuals may be asked to support varying administrative tasks while on site during events. 

 The ideal candidates, as points of contact for all event clients, will be reliable, comfortable working independently, and able to problem solve. With the variability of event date and times, individuals will receive and accept assignments that are scheduled within a 60-90 day period.  

SPECIFIC DUTIES 

  • Ensure event staff coverage and efficient clean-up/close-down.  

  • Coordinate day-of logistics such as room setup and signage. 

  • Point of contact for building throughout event hours and close down. 

  • Strong communication skills. 

  • Availability in the evenings and weekends. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE 

  • Strong organizational skills. 

  • Comfortable working independently. 

  • Clear and concise communication. 

  • Physical ability to stand and walk regularly as well as lift up to 40 lbs. 

  • Provide excellent customer service to event clients. 

  • Technology skills and/or aptitude to learn.
