Hi there! I’m Karem, otherwise known as The Modern Host. Welcome to my online abode. I’m so glad you’re here!

As you’ll see, gatherings are my thing. I’m an entertainer, a social connector and immensely enjoy spending time with those I love over food, drinks and lively conversations. In my life, happiness and satisfaction come from the time I get to spend with people whose company I enjoy. I care sincerely about my family, friends, and my community – and it’s why I put so much effort into coming up with activities, experiences and gifts I believe they will enjoy.

I currently live in Sunny Central Florida with my amazing husband, beautiful teenage daughter, and the most spoiled dad on the face of the earth. Here, I gather with family and friends at the slightest provocation, and our home is generally open if they want to come by and hang out on a whim. We’re pretty laid back, and the house doesn’t have to look picture-perfect in order for us to decide to open our doors. One thing I’ve learned throughout time is that in order to host guests regularly, gatherings should be as effortless as possible. All you really need is the desire to spend time with people who matter to you and a few (good) staples. To me, that’s what modern hosting is all about.

I always have food, crafts and party supplies in hand that can be used in all sorts of impromptu get-togethers and celebrations. Yes… there’s lots of real good cheese and cured meats in my fridge, as well as a healthy amount of pantry essentials that help me whip up tasty treats for my guests in no time.
