Position Summary
As part of the Community Impact team, the Community Engagement Coordinator provides the backbone of Healthy West Orange events, festivals, programs, and outreach efforts. This role is accountable for end-to-end event logistics, including preparation, supplies, equipment, transportation, vendor coordination, inventory, calendaring, and setup/teardown.

Serving as a friendly, public-facing representative of Healthy West Orange, this role supports community-facing activation of initiatives such as the Join the Movement campaign through events, outreach activities, and on-the-ground engagement. The role also supports HUBB-related outreach and events as needed, ensuring consistency, reliability, and a positive experience for community members and partners.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Deliver a professional, welcoming, and consistent Healthy West Orange presence at all events and outreach activities.
  • Plan and execute event logistics with a high level of organization, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Coordinate materials, signage, tabling, equipment, and supplies to support public-facing campaigns, including Join the Movement.
  • Collaborate closely with the team, volunteers, and community partners to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Maintain event-related inventory, calendars, and logistics systems to support reliability and efficiency.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • This role requires demonstrated schedule flexibility, including availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekend events throughout the year. While not required daily, seasonal peaks and key initiatives may necessitate extended or non-traditional hours to support organizational priorities and community engagement activities.
  • Due to the event-driven and community-facing nature of this position, the successful candidate must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and safely lift, carry, and move materials and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.

Experience
Relevant experience may come from nonprofit, community organizations, events, hospitality, education, or related environments.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Additional coursework, certifications, or training in event coordination, logistics, community engagement, or related fields a plus
